I reviewed the law of conservation of mechanical energy with Marcel. I showed him how any object with mass has both kinetic energy and potential gravitational energy. I then showed him how to analyze and solve a problem dealing with changing potential and kinetic energy. After finishing that problem, I let Marcel set up a different but related problem. When he got an incorrect answer, I told him that he needed to rework the problem for homework and do one additional problem.
