Jonathan continued to develop, practice, and refine adding 3 numbers. Today he primarily worked on word problems, using a variety of practiced strategies from his tool kit, including counters, connecting cubes, decomposing a number, number bonds, and ten-frames. We also reviewed the commutative property and saw how changing the order of the addends did not change the result, using examples as proof. Jonathan worked independently and took more time to insure his answers were correct by checking them over.
