Lesson Outline
Jonathan continued practicing finding the unknown number. He solved linear as well as word problems problems by applying strategies using counters, connecting cubes, 10-frames, number paths and by decomposing numbers to find the missing number (the unknown). Jonathan primarily solved these problems by counting backwards in his head, drawing counters occasionally to show his work. He benefits from reminders to check over his work before submitting it. He was also tasked with writing out corresponding equations to go with the word problem. An assessment was administered during the session on which Jonathan got 100%.
