Lesson Outline
Jonathan took a short assessment and achieved 100% correct. He then practiced solving word problems to 20. We focused on the wording of the problems, "more than," and "less than" to guide our undersanding of which operations are involved. Jonathan has demonstrated good number sense and satisfactorily understands the language of word problems, using his fingers to add and subtract. We ended the session making up our own word problem and solving it.
