Lesson Topic
States in the US
Lesson Outline
Jonathan and I reviewed a map of the United States. We identified regions and he worked on a learning activity tasking him with finding the missing states omitted on a map. He worked diligently and did not want help - but did ask for a hint or two, which was afforded him via cardinal directions. He did well given these cues. Next, he had to look at the shape of states, identify them on a map, and draw a line from an outline of the state to its name. He was permitted to refer back to a map template for reference and did well on this activity. Jonathan was permitted to collaborate with a peer on the exercise but took the lead enthusiastically and purposefully. He is looking forward to being challenged the next time in a similar activity, given less cues. He will be asked to identify the states without referring to a map.

Lesson Comments
I had Jonathan for the last half hour of the day (2/27/20) since he no longer has golf or tennis on Thursdays. I had him with Christopher for 30 minutes (S.S.). He was a good role-model for Christopher.
