Lesson Topic
charge attraction and repulsion
Lesson Outline
Using electroscope images demonstrate that like charges repel and unlike charges attract. Review the atomic structure, indicating that only the electrons move from object to object. A positively charged object is due to electrons being transferred, leaving a surplus of protons, and a negatively charged object is due to receiving electrons. The law of conservation of charge was defined and demonstrated with arbitrary numbers given to transfers from and to objects in contact. The electroscope was looked at and shown to just indicate charge, not the type of charge.

Lesson Comments
Nicole did very well today, she was able to answer most questions regarding atomic makeup and charges, which we covered earlier in the course.
