Analyzing political cartoons is a very important skill for history students to master. In everyday life, we see them in newspapers and magazines. Throughout American history, political cartoons have been a very important method to bring news to the masses - especially when the literacy rate was not as high in the U.S. as it is now. Political cartoons are often on high school history tests and they are always included in a variety of of AP history tests. Today, we viewed and analyzed 16 recent/timely political cartoons from the past six weeks. There is a vast collection of them, so we may spend some time on this skill in future classes.
