Today, Palm Beach County is re-opening at Phase 1. Governor DeSantis detailed in his remarks at FITTEAM Ballpark of the Palm Beaches last Friday, that Phase 1 allows restaurants to return to outdoor seating as long as the tables are at least 6 feet apart, and at 25% capacity indoors. Broward and Miami-Dade counties, which along with Palm Beach were the only three counties in Florida not open with the rest of the state, will remain closed.
People have mixed feelings about public re-openings. Just yesterday, there were 595 new cases of coronavirus in FL. At the same time, concern about the U.S. economy is serious. Over 30 million Americans have lost their jobs over the past two months. U.S. unemployment is 14.7% - that's the second highest it's been since the Great Depression in the 1930s.
