Today's Senate Hearings
Lesson Outline
We viewed live a segment of the Q & A session during today's Senate Committee hearing on Health, U.S. Labor and Pensions. Key members of the White House's coronavirus task force addressed the committee today. First, Dr, Anthony Fauci of the NIH said that the country risks "needless suffering and death" if states open up too quickly. This will not only result in needless suffering and death, but would actually set us back on our quest to return to normal." we also heard opening statements from Dr. Robert Redfield of the CDC, Admiral Giroir, and the Dr. Hahn, Dir. of the FDA. We listened to an interesting exchange between Senator Bernie Sanders and Dr. Fauci. It's not just the U.S that is re-opening, it's many countries around the world. Disneyland in Shanghai is preparing to re-open after 3 1/2 months! It will allow a smaller capacity of visitors.
