Lesson Outline
Richard seemed to enjoy telling me about himself. He engaged easily and did well attending to tasks. He completed the first two pages of a book he will complete entitled 'All About Me'. He drew a picture of himself and his favorite sport. Richard listened to the story, 'My Nest is Best'. He confidently predicted what would happen next and did well answering questions about the story. He enjoyed creating a nest for three birds out of a paper plate, feathers, paper and sequins. He practiced fine motor skills and eye-hand coordination by cutting with scissors and by tracing non-straight lines from pictures of birds to their nests. Richard was asked to name letters and numbers. He was tasked with writing the letters of the alphabet and writing the numbers 1-10. Throughout the year, we will work on pencil grip and the correct formation of letters and numbers. He enjoyed counting bear manipulatives and categorizing them by size and color. Given numbers 1-12, Richard confidently placed the numbers in the correct order. He did well following one step directions that involved physicality. Richard enjoyed a brief trip to the playground.

Lesson Comments
Richard arrived about 15 minutes late. He is a friendly, cooperative little boy who was a joy to teach. His handwriting shows some fine motor difficulty and some reversals. He was attentive, worked independently when appropriate and asked for help when needed.
