Lesson Outline
Manipulatives were used to focus on where the line of objects starts and which direction the manipulatives face when determining the ordinal position of a given object. Richard did very well on a spiral practice of skills learned. He worked hard on number dictation. Richard was tasked with determining which pictures started with the same s-blend as the given picture. In addition, Richard drew a picture in his journal and wrote about the picture.

Richard came in from recess upset. He told the others that he once scored 20 points in soccer and, he said, that told him that wasn't true. It took a little bit to talk about it and refocus Richard.
