Richard did well with rhyme production, identification of initial, medial and final sounds and phoneme manipulation. He read a passage and wrote answers to questions about the text. Richard enjoyed a game that involved reading words with the long vowel/silent e pattern. We are working on blending words as he decodes them rather than saying each sound in isolation. Richard wrote in his journal about his birthday. He did well on a review of ordinal numbers. Richard enjoyed a timed game of identifying pennies, nickels and dimes. He was tasked with determining the monetary value of given groups of coins. We talked about the different seasons and their characteristics.
