It was wonderful to see Ayden today and hear about his summer. I introduced him to the writing curriculum we will be using. The Writing Revolution is a systemative approach to improving writing for all subjects. He read an article about fast food advertising and its impact on children. Ayden identified and edited a list of sentences and sentence fragments. He wrote four sentences on the topic (statement, question, exclamation, and command). Using the sentence stems because, but, and so, Adyen completed a series of sentences. Next session, we will move on to the paragraph level.
