Unit 2: Measurement and Data
Lesson Outline
Test on Unit 1.
Lesson 2 Scientific Tools and Measurement:
We learned to collect and record data using the international system of units (SI). We understand which metric units are used for volume, mass, and weight. Then we learned the importance of using the standardized units for scientists. We learned how to use several scientific tools such as a triple beam balance, thermometer, and graduated cylinder. We measured and recorded the mass, temperature, and volume of several items several times.
We learned how to convert units with the SI prefixes. Then we practiced putting numbers into scientific notation.
