Jayne informed me that she went to Sea world in Orlando this weekend. Unfortunately, she said that she was not able to do too much as the lines for the rides were very long; however, she still had fun seeing the dolphins and spending time with her friends. For today’s lesson, Jayne began by reading a journal entry. She answered questions and discussed her strategies and rationale for selecting her responses. The questions tasked her with finding word meaning in context, drawing conclusions, making inferences, and distinguishing between fact and opinion. Jayne sent me, via Outlook email, the latest chapter in her creative writing story, which we will edit tomorrow. Jayne is an active learner and a pleasure to teach.
