Lesson 2 Plate Tectonics – We watched a movie explaining Alfred Wegener’s theory of Pangaea and we built a Pangaea out of the continents. We connected his evidence which included coal found in the Arctic when it usually is found in forests, mesosaurus fossils on 2 continents now separated by an ocean, and glacier scrappings on rocks in the Karoo desert in Africa. Then we learned how his theory was proven by sonar that detected sea-floor speading.
