Lesson Topic
Art and Movies of the 1970s
Lesson Outline
Today we looked at the art and movies of the 1970s through interviews with directors Steven Spielberg, George Lucas, Brian DePalma and Francis Ford Coppola. How did their perceptions of the world and the times produce film classics such as "Jaws," "Close Encounters," "ET," "The Godfather" and "Star Wars?" You can surmise a lot about the social conscience and consciousness based on the art that is produced in a specific era of time.
