Lesson Topic
Nixon and Watergate
Lesson Outline
We began to look at the Watergate Crisis today. During Nixon's 2nd term, what seemed like a small scandal turned into a presidential crisis. The scandal began with the president's reelection campaign. In June, 1972, his reelection committee wanted information about about the Democrats' campaign plans. Members of the Nixon campaign ordered "plumbers" to break into the headquarters of the Democratic National Committee to install telephone listening devices & bugs. This break-in would set events in motion that would rock the presidency and the nation. Uncovering the cover up is complicated and we will look at from a prospective that lays out the people, places, times ad crimes committed during this unprecedented time in presidential history.

Lesson Comments
This was a remote class. Bella explained that it's difficult for her to get to school when her father leaves for work early in the morning - which is why she isn't here today. Bella told me she is going to be out the last 3 days of school on 5/24, 5/25 and 5/26 as she will be in NY.
