Santino was in excellent spirits and socially greeted me with a huge smile and sustained eye contact. He asked to eat and I encouraged him, via verbal and cues to request to eat in a complete sentence ("I want to eat, please"). Santino continues to improve his understanding of expectations and elongating his sentences, although prompts remain necessary. Although he did not particularly enjoy his main meal today, he did eat half, and then requested and independently ate yogurt and Fruit Loops; he also received and enjoyed an apple juice squeeze I gave him and he drank an organic beverage which was transferred to a cup. Although Santino is as yet selective with his food, he is less resistant to being introduced to different options when shown them and seems to be more willing to expand his food repertoire, especially as regards volume and textures.
