We discussed how a cultural tradition largely limited to Europe became a world religion after 1500. This gives rise to another cultural encounter: the rise between science and religion. As science emerges, it gets varying receptions in different parts of the world. We discussed the Crusades, conflict between Christians & Muslims & the seizure of Constantinople in 1453. The Protestant Reformation begins in 1517. We discussed Joshua and writing. I want Joshua to know he writes well and should see writing - especially in this course as a challenge! Rather than reticence re: writing essays, Joshua was reminded to embrace the challenge. It's important as 2/3 of this AP exam is writing. Part I: Multiple-choice questions 55 40% 55 minutes, Part II: Short-answer questions 3 20% 40 minutes, Part III Long essay/DBQ (document based questions). There is a 15-minute reading period)
