Today we looked at the latest news on the weather in California, where parts of the state are under severe weather warning after persistent flooding and power loss. We saw that in France there was a protest of over 1 million people against the government's plans to raise the retirement age from 62 to 64. We then explored the Chester Zoo in the United Kingdom whose mission is preventing animal extinction through conservation.

There was a bit of a delay in reaching Kaitlin for our remote 3rd period class today. She was outside, just having gotten out of the pool with her little cousins who arrived last night from TX. Kaitlin sat on a lounge chair by the pool for our lesson. She really wanted to get back to the activity and fun with her cousins and implored me to let her out at 11:00 rather than 11:15am. Kaitlin is great! It just wasn't an optimal "learning day" for her today. She told me she will be back to school tomorrow.
