Using the poems, "Trees" and "A Soft Rain Will Fall" , today's lesson addressed the literary devices of : simile, rhyme scheme, personification and alliteration. After I defined each term and pointed out examples in the poem "Trees", Jaydn then studied stanzas in " A Soft Rain Will Fall" and identified these devices within the poem. As she had some difficulty with the concept of rhyme scheme, I provided assistance in this exercise as needed.
