5/9/23 Assessment Results:
MAZE Reading Comprehension passage (9-B - end of 9th grade) assessment, Cameron scored a 100% by making zero errors in word selection. This indicates that he is meeting the benchmark for reading comprehension at the 9th grade level. This does not indicate that his independent reading level IS at the 9th grade level but it does indicate that he can understand and use words in context at the 9th grade level.
I also gave him the San Diego Quick Assessment of Readability. This assessment gives an approximation for independent, instructional, and frustration level for reading ability. Cameron placed at the 8th grade level for independent reading (1 error), 9th grade for instructional (2 errors), and 10th grade for frustration level (3 errors).

These results indicate a lack of need for further testing. My recommendation is that in 10th grade, Cameron should continue receiving supports in English II, but he does not need intensive reading as an intervention class period.
