Lesson Outline
Introduce the composition of the universe by eliciting what it id composed of. Discuss matte and radiant energy. Define matter in the traditional way and then define it as matter and energy relate to velocity and the speed of light.
Introduce the Einstein theory of light and mass being attracted by gravitational forces. Show the proof using photos of a solar eclipse and diagrams indicating the refraction of light by a large star.
Discuss the mass-energy relationship shown by Einstein's formula and how a given amount of mass is converted to radian energy, and hope radiant energy is converted to mass.
Discuss the traditional definition of conservation of matter and energy and compare it to the newer definition which involves conversion of mass to energy and vice-versa.
