I showed Liam a photo and asked him what he noticed in the photo as well as what he wondered and inferred. This exercise helps to improve observational skills, and strengthen the ability to make thoughtful inferences and to draw connections. We then read a passage about bees and I asked Liam the same types of questions before, during, and after reading.
