For introductory session to Unit 4, I first reviewed the previously studied lines of reasoning as well as examples of deductive and inductive reasoning . We specifically discussed how Amy Tan's essay employs inductive reasoning and a narrative line of reasoning. I then provided instruction on how to compose an interesting introduction to an essay using: a short anecdote, a startling statistic, a rhetorical question, or famous quote. JP then reviewed essays and identified the technique employed by the writer in the introduction . Last, we reviewed JP's homework on AP classroom and addressed multiple choice questions where he encountered difficulty.
