Liam answered questions after reading a ReadWorks passage, and his answers demonstrated good understanding and synthesis. We then collaboratively read a figurative language story in which Liam was tasked to identify examples of figurative language. This served as a good review from a previous lesson. Liam was prompted to drop his voice at the end of sentences. He particularly enjoyed analyzing the simile, "When she turned around, she found his eyes fixed on hers 'like laser beams.' Liam and I will organize our thoughts to write a summary of the book he recently read, "Sadako and the Thousand Cranes," using the same format and outline we used to write about his favorite show. Liam is not hesitant to request help or clarification if does not understand a word or directive.
