Lesson Topic
1.4 Radicals
Lesson Outline
Today we discussed how to simplify, add, and subtract radical expressions. We worked with square root, cube roots, and fourth roots. Using direct instruction, I showed JPaul how to use the factor tree to break down radicals. Regardless of constants or variables, we work to find groups we can "pull out" of the root and single terms left over, stay "inside" of the root. JPaul did well with this concept, as it seems to be a review. Next we discussed adding and subtracting radicals. We acknowledged that in order to add/subtract, the expressions must be "like" to combine
