I first outlined the objectives of Unit 5 which will lead up to the writing of the synthesis essay. For today , we first studied a visual text , a political cartoon , about reparations to African Americans and formulated a thesis statement from the visual text. We likewise studied a graph on this subject.(The AP synthesis question often presents a visual text). Next, we read a short essay by an African -American writer who opposes reparations. JP identified and wrote a thesis statement based on the text and then outlined the writer's evidence which we identified as logos.
