Lesson Outline
We explored the difference between denotation and connotation during the first half of the session. I provided examples to illustrate how words can impart either a positive or a negative message and explained how connotations can be used to support an argument. We then reviewed JP's AP MCQs on connotation, transitions ,and coherence. Where JP encountered difficulty, I directed attention to the passage and explained how to discern the "best" answer among nuanced choices.
