We focused on JP's Unit 7 review exercise which addressed composition skills. I provided explanations for a number of questions where JP encountered difficulties,specifically how to narrow a claim, where to place modifiers, and last how to use transitions such as "because, while, and although,." JP further had difficulty writing his argumentative essay that was due today. I provided guidance on drafting the first paragraph,specifically forming a thesis and contextualizing the thesis by anecdote , historical data, quotes, or a rhetorical question. We further discussed the need to avoid summarizing the prompt .
