To begin, Kellan and I reviewed last night's homework before he completed the daily review problems on choosing the fraction represented on a number line and solving a 2-step multiplication word problem. Then, our lesson focused on mixed numbers and improper fractions. Pictures were drawn on the whiteboard to model mixed numbers and their equivalent improper fraction. Then, Kellan wrote different ways to decompose the mixed numbers and improper fractions into addition sentences.
