Today, Kellan and I focused on adding fractions with like denominators using fraction strips and models to show joining parts of the same whole. Together, we completed the lesson's real-world examples before Kellan found the sums of fractions. Then, Kellan was asked to state whether his sum was a proper or improper fraction and we changed improper fractions to mixed numbers.
