Richard and I began with a decimal review on how to say decimal amounts and each digit's place value. Then, Richard used a decimal place value chart to model decimal amounts to the tenths and hundredths place by shading the given decimal amounts. Using this manipulative, Richard recognized that decimal amounts can be combined to make a whole amount by shading ten of ten parts or a hundred of hundred parts. Finally, Richard used the remaining time to practice basic multiplication facts with an online race car game.
