For our introductory lesson on Unit 2, AP Poetry,on the board I defined: four types of poems, steps to interpret a poem(enjambment, paraphrase, identify the speaker , identify poetic techniques) poetic apostrophe, assonance, caesura, meter ,foot ,and scansion. We then began to analyze Browning's "Last Duchess" , a dramatic poem, to explore characterization, and to practice identifying the antecedent to pronouns which are often hard to discern due to their placement in a stanza.
