Using Browning's poem " My Last Duchess",Joshua discussed words and phrases that supported his paragraph on characterization . I discussed adding some technical literary terms such as allusion and provided some organizational ideas. We then studied "My Theme for English B". I provided instruction on how stanzas, line breaks ,and punctuation combine to create meaning and emphasize shifts in tone and subject. I further discussed Langston Hughes and the Harlem Renaissance. This took us into our second session during which I provided ideas ,strategies ,and comments to Joshua's college application essay.
