This morning, Libby practiced writing 1 through 10 in a sand tracing tray. After each number, she found groups of objects in her room to model the number. Then, we worked on a spider number catching web activity to help build number sense. Libby matched spider webs marked with the digits 1 through 5 to the digit in word form, in a ten frame, shown with fingers, represented as tallies, and with objects. Each number representation was cut out and glued onto the correlating spider web.
