We completed our study of symbols and figurative language in short fiction today by reviewing AP MCQs on this area and my introducing our next reading,Welty's "The Worn Path." We discussed the use of metaphor and allusion in the title, in the main character's name, and in the opening paragraphs. As we studied the AP questions where Joshua had some questions , I provided strategies to interpret similes focusing on the function of the simile in the passage.
