We continue to study and develop Joshua's interpretative and essay writing skills using AP essay prompts and text passages.. Today, we studied Joshua's thesis and opening paragraph and discussed how to form an interpretative thesis and to create a line of reasoning in the first paragraph. As I discussed some of the critical areas of the given text passage, we explored how the text suggests a conflict between the two characters arising out of the tension between family allegiance and a societal code of honor . We further discussed what evidence in the passage might support this interpretation. Joshua will complete the essay for homework.
