Jason completed the unit assessment on fluently adding within 100 and answered all questions correctly. The questions pertained to understanding the strategies for adding two-digit numbers involving breaking numbers apart using place value and joining tens and ones in either order and extending these strategies to adding more than two 2-digit numbers. Then, these strategies were applied to solve one- and two-step problems. Jason was encouraged to use his learned strategies and show his work throughout the assessment.
