This morning, Libby and I began with a game of Race to 20. We took turns rolling 2 dice and using an addition mat to find the sum. Then, tens frames were filled using connecting cubes until the first player reached 20 or two tens frames. Then, Libby used objects, drawings, counting, and equations to help solve addition problems involving adding to. Libby wrote addition equations to model given scenarios and drew pictures to model given addition equations. She also solved Add To Result Unknown addition word problems involving real-world scenarios.
