We reviewed vocabulary terms found in Chapter 7 and the beginning of Chapter 8. Ben was cited sentences and did well using contextual clues to decipher the meaning of unfamiliar words. We discussed common types of context clues. I modeled a self-questioning strategy to identify the different types of context clues including: the root word, contrast, logic, definition, and using examples or illustrations to decipher the word's meaning, structure, and how it is used. We will continue reading chapter 8 on Monday. Ben's will be given his next homework assignment on Tuesday, 2/4/25.
