This morning, Libby worked on a number sense activity on the numbers 0 through 10. We used flashcards showing numbers as numerals, number words, tallies, within 10 frames, and as groups of objects. All of the cards were laid out in groups and Libby started with zero and worked up to ten, matching all of the flashcards. She was encouraged to quickly recognize the tallies and ten frames without counting and use the number reference on her wall to find the number words.
