Occupational Therapy Treatment Session
Lesson Outline
Libby was seen in her room for a 45-minute treatment session after two week winter break. Libby was happy and worked well during today's sessions. The focus of therapy on fine motor skills specifically grasp patterns, ocular motor skills (saccades), self care skills, and handwriting. OT has also focused on sensory processing and having Libby be more comfortable with wearing a variety of clothes (weather appropriate) and different hairstyles (only wants to wear her hair one way which is down). Began treatment session with fine motor exercises with rapper snappers which are tubes you have to pull with two hand to make longer. Once Libby pulled the tubes we made different letters with these tubes. Reviewed the letters we previously learned which were "r, n , m, f, h, p , b , f, a, c, o, and d." Libby did best with visual cues, visual boundaries and auditory cues. She has the most trouble forming the letter "d" using the "c" first method. Libby was excited to show OT how she could write words today. Good session.
