Lesson Outline
Today , I began by providing instruction on identifying an inference and differentiating an inference from a direct expression. We then worked on a reading portion of a practice PERT test specifically focusing on questions that seek direct support from a passage vs. those that seek an inference. As we addressed some of the longer more complex passages, I provided strategies for gleaning the main idea or gist of a passage. We then applied those strategies to questions where Kaitlin encountered difficulty.
