We started out by observing the toy chick. Since we have chick eggs in the Science room, we talked about those and what she has seen so far. Then, we read the book "Little Chick's Breakfast". After we finished the book, we discussed the storyline. Next, we created a hatching chick project page. Alexandra did a great job of creating a chick inside the egg as well as coloring the outside of the egg. Lastly, we folded the egg so the chick was inside the egg so it was safe and hidden from the elements.
