This morning, Alexandra and I worked on the concept of measurement using a 12-inch ruler to help with the understanding of comparing and contrasting objects based on size. Alexandra was shown the 2 different ruler sides, how to recognize the side in inches, and how to line up the zero with the measured object. Then, we went outside for a hands-on measurement activity with our planted spring flowers. Alexandra measured the plants to see how tall they had grown and compared the growth of each student's plant. Finally, we finished our time together with number recognition Bingo using the numbers 1 through 30.
