Lesson Outline
We finished up the chapter on World religions discussing indigenous religions. I prompted PJ to speculate about the purpose of rituals and ceremonies in religions, and he made connections between culture and the environment when defining the meaning of animism. I presented information about the indigenous regions of Africa from PJ's text, and we discussed how most local or indigenous religions reflect a close relationship between humans and the environment. PJ contributed insightful and relevant comments in our discussion. We ended our second session together checking on the chicks, which he handles with extreme care. PJ again commented that "my heart is a block of ice but these chicks positively melt it!"
