35.4 Immune System Disorders – We learned how a strong immune response to harmless antigens can produce allergies, asthma, and autoimmune disease. When the immune system attacks the body’s own cells, it produces an autoimmune disease such as diabetes, arthritis, and lupus. We learned about the discovery of acquired immunodeficiency syndrome or AIDS.
