Influence on the Founding Fathers and U.S. Constitution. J Locke Natural Rights included the right to liberty, happiness, and to own property. Rousseau's Social Contract advocated for a 2-way relationship between citizens and their government. Citizens obey laws and serve in the military in exchange for protection and creating opportunities to establish a productive happy life.
